APi Construction worked under two separate contracts with two major general contractors to supply and install all the insulation materials for this 550-MW grassroots coal-fired power plant. Weston Unit #4 required APi to insulate 212,000 SF of conventional insulation on a Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) 550-MW supercritical coal-fired boiler, two B&W selective catalytic reduction systems, and the associated hot-side ductwork. APi also installed more than 230,000 SF of our Type I Prefabricated Insulation Panels on two B&W spray dryer absorbers (SDA), a B&W fabric filter dust collector, and the associated ductwork. In addition, APi installed all the plant's pipe insulation and jacketing on the boiler piping, balance of plant, and a Toshiba steam turbine-generator.
